I've had a Canon Rebel XT for the past few years, received as a Christmas/birthday present from my parents. It was one of those situations where I really wanted to get it, they told me they'd get it for me but (obviously) nothing else, and I ended up with a $600 entry-level semi-professional digital camera to get me going.
When I originally got it, I admit I had the attitude that a better camera = better pictures. Even without really understanding the camera, it's true, I was able to take better shots with it. Only in the last year or so have I sat down and decided to really learn it, and I've gotten some really amazing shots, like my fireworks photos. Still, though, I'm only using the stock lens and modifying settings. I honestly don't know how to do much more than that.
So, this is sort of a shout-out to anyone who might be willing to help, or may run across my journal while looking at my gallery, etc. If you have anything you'd like to share with me, to help me improve, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm going to start saving up for a new lens (due to the nature of the shots I like to take, a wide angle has been suggested to me, and the one suggested is about $600) and I know that certain equipment will certainly help me in getting the perfect shot, but if there's anything I can do, physically, please feel free to tell me!
